Theetu Tharpanam

Theetu Tharpanam is a Hindu ritual performed to honor the souls of deceased ancestors, especially on Amavasya (new moon days). The word "Theetu" refers to the deceased or ancestors, and "Tharpanam" means offering, typically made with water, sesame seeds, and black sesame. During the ritual, prayers are offered to seek blessings, peace, and liberation for the departed souls. The ceremony is believed to help release the ancestors from any lingering karmic debts and bring spiritual benefits to the living. Theetu Tharpanam is an important practice to maintain a spiritual connection with ancestors and ensure their blessings.
